Rochedale then and now
Rochedale is in the City of Brisbane's south-east, about 18.9 kilometres by road from the CBD. It takes its name from the Roche family, who came out from Ireland in 1860, and settlers started farming its alluvial soil in 1865.

Layering sheer and blockout
Big living rooms with lots of glass need two things at once: soft daylight and proper privacy after dark. Layering is the usual answer. Sheer curtains filter light during the day, and a blockout layer handles night and media rooms.
A double curtain puts both on one track system, usually in a wave fold. Another combination that works well is a blockout roller blind inside the recess with a sheer curtain in front. Both options can be motorised.
