A One Curtains and Blinds supplies and installs made-to-measure curtains, blinds, plantation shutters and screens in Park Ridge. Some clients are replacing worn-out blinds in an older home, others are dressing a new build with nothing on the windows yet. We make it all in our Hillcrest workshop, our own team fits it, and the measure and quote are free.
Two kinds of Park Ridge home
Park Ridge sits on Logan's southern side, with the Mount Lindesay Highway along its western boundary and Chambers Flat Road to the east. The name dates to the early 1890s, when the post office dropped "Logan Ridges" for something that suited the park-like country. For most of its history it was farms, timber and acreage buffered by bushland.
That's shifting quickly. New estates keep going in along the highway corridor, and the state's Park Ridge Connector road project is planned around the residential and industrial growth here. The result is a suburb where an older acreage house and a brand new home can be a few streets apart, and they need quite different things from us.
Renovating an older Park Ridge home
Older Park Ridge houses usually have window coverings that have done their time. The ones we get called about most:
- vertical blinds with missing or stained slats, or a track that jams halfway
- venetians with snapped cords or bent slats
- curtains faded right through on the western side
Replacement isn't always the answer. Our aftercare service does repairs and professional deep cleaning, so ask about that first. When it really is time for new, people often swap old verticals on sliding doors for fresh vertical blinds or zebra blinds, and tired venetians for roller blinds or new aluminium, PVC or timber-look venetian blinds.
Older frames can be out of square, so we decide at the measure whether a blind sits inside the recess or face fits outside the frame. That's not something to guess from a phone photo.
One more thing about older corded blinds: new corded internal coverings have to meet the ACCC's mandatory safety standard for children. If you've got little ones and old looped cords, that's a good reason to update.
Fitting out a new build
New homes are the opposite problem. Every window is bare at once, ceilings are often higher, and there may be a void over the living room or a skylight in the hallway.
Zebra blinds
Zebra blinds have alternating sheer and solid bands. Line them up and you get filtered light; offset them and the view closes off. They're a tidy middle ground for living rooms and home offices.
Skylight blinds
A skylight is lovely in winter and brutal in a Queensland summer. Skylight blinds cut the glare and heat, and since most skylights are out of reach, motorising them is worth a look.
Void curtains
Double-height windows need long drops that hang straight and draw evenly. We make void-area curtains for exactly that, usually on a motorised track because nobody wants to pull a five-metre curtain by hand.

Why use a local maker
We're a Logan business with our own workshop, so what we quote is what we make. There are no subcontractors; the team that measures and installs is ours.
We hold a 5-star Google rating across 59 reviews, and plenty of them name Jessy and Puneet, two of our installers. If something needs attention later, repairs and cleaning are part of what we do. You can see finished jobs on our projects page.
